Michael Schneider is a lawyer and software developer. In March of 2009, Michael left the Seattle office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati to open an iPhone applications company, and practice law on his own. Michael’s law practice focuses primarily on technology-related transactions and Internet and intellectual property-related issues.
Michael counsels clients in a variety of rapidly developing areas of the law, including DMCA safe harbor compliance, user-generated content issues, widget development and licensing, management of online communities, targeted advertising, and open-source licensing. Michael also works with clients to develop defensive and offensive intellectual property strategies, including assessing the value and timing of seeking trademark, copyright, patent, and trade secret protection.
Michael’s technology interests include gaming, clean energy, Web 2.0 development, Web services, data mining, predictive markets, and artificial intelligence. His legal interests include creative commons licensing, copyright/patent reform, virtual (in-game) property rights, and Internet privacy.
